The Kumho Solus KH16 tire is a High Performance All-Season radial developed by Kumho, offering H and V speed ratings and a smooth, year round performance for drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes, and performance sedans. The Kumho Solus KH16 is engineered by Kumho using a variety of patented technologies. A special silica infused tread compound that performs very well in both wet and dry road conditions is used to mold the tread pattern. The special tread compound of the Kumho Solus KH16 is molded into an asymmetric pattern with a wet performance sector and a dry performance sector that work together to provide excellent traction and handling in differing road conditions. The outward dry performance sector has a broad shoulder rib that increases the contact area with the dry pavement, rigid intermediate and center ribs and angled sipes provide a stiff solid surface that keep the tire in contact with the road at all times for enhanced responsiveness and handling on dry pavements. The inner wet performance sector has an intermediate rib with Kumho s anti-hydroplaning technology that works with the independent shoulder blocks to channel water away from the tires footprint for enhanced traction on wet surfaces and a resistance to hydroplaning. The angled sipes across the surface of the tire in addition to providing stiffness and stability also provide numerous biting edges that are able to grip snow covered roads for winter performance.
